We Caught Up With Mad Kids Member, Spill, as He Shares His Opinion on Ex-Members, Free Spill, Whats in Store For The Future, and More. How do you feel about the departure of Justin Trinos, and the arrival of Matty Ruger?
"Honestly, I've never met Trinos. I'm a cool dude so i'm not gonna diss I don't know and i'm not gonna talk bad on him, but if a nigga is putting my name in his mouth, that's not cool. I'm glad he's out. He brung too much negativity. Matty is my nigga and we've never even met. We talk on twitter and exchange laughs, he a cool dude." Where do you see the mad kids in 5 years and how have you guys grown in the past year? "In five years? Damn, thats a long time. I HOPEFULLY see us doing what OF(odd future), Pro Era, and underground groups are doing. Touring and making the music that we wanna make. I dont wanna let the fans or the media change us. I know there is alot of pressure on us from our local friends saying "dont be like Odd Future" just cause some of us skate and shit, but we're just as original as anyone.I think we've grown in the since of Unity. We're actually a unit now. A group. A pack. In the past things have been messy and all over the place. There is still some confusion on who WANTS to be and who is ACTUALLY in the group as far as i'm concerned haha." Explain "Free Spill"? "In my own words, "Free Spill" is a statement that personally refers to me! From being in trouble all the time and wanting to be "Freed" from punishment. On a general level, it could mean being yourself and letting your most creative/out-going/true self out; Or "Freeing" who you really are to the public through music, or whatever your passion is. For me it's music." What kind of suprises and production can we expect from "The After Party" and when will it be expected to release? "I've been looking foward to having some "lessons" in the technical part of making music, the parts outside of just recording and writing lyrics but actually making beats and mixing tracks. I want to have a variety of beats and instrumental styles. Like acoustics, old school hip hop and of course "rap".In the beginning, the release date for it was on my birthday. But between transportation, money, communication, and especially stess, the relate will probably be moved back to New Years Day to give me more months to work." Will you be looking forward to the plea for peace show, and the label debut Summer School? "Unfortunately, I can't attend the show and perform with my homies, this is a huuuge night for Mad Kids and really Alpha Shark as a whole crew. It's majorly disappointing. I am definately looking foward to Summer School. It's cool to be a part of something so big with so many good young local musicians that I happen to be friends with! It's dope and exciting." Anything to say to the people reading this? "Fans or not, I appreciate it. It shows ya'll give a fuck. That means something, giving the fact that it's hard to stand out coming from a small, shitty town. So, thanks." Follow Him On Twitter @MadSpill
